What are the common problems with dental chairs and how can they be resolved?

What are the common problems and troubleshooting methods for dental chairs? Dental chairs are fully functional, easy to operate, simplify the work of dentists, and improve efficiency. They are essential medical equipment for dental treatment. However, improper use and maintenance can often lead to malfunctions. For example, the handpiece may lack power or produce abnormal noise. Below, we will break down these issues one by one.

What are the common problems and troubleshooting methods for dental chairs?Dental chairWith complete functions and convenient operation, dental chairs simplify the work of dentists and improve efficiency. They are indispensable medical devices for dental treatment. If not maintained properly, they often malfunction. For example, the handpiece may lack power and produce abnormal noise. Below are the breakdowns of these issues.

1. Malfunction in the treatment part.

1.1Dental chairThe lack of power in the handpiece may occur when the air pressure is normal after stepping on the foot pedal, but the handpiece does not rotate or rotates with abnormal noise. (1) The reason for the handpiece not rotating is that there are foreign objects in the bearings or the bearings are severely worn and stuck. The solution is to remove the foreign objects with handpiece lubricant or replace the bearings. Note that the bearings should be replaced as a set and not mixed with old ones. (2) The lack of power in the handpiece is often accompanied by abnormal noise, generally from the head of the handpiece. This is due to excessive wear of the bearings, causing the bearing assembly to wobble. The solution is to replace the bearing assembly. Another source of noise is from the tail of the handpiece, which is caused by the tailpipe interface bending or breaking during treatment. It can be reconnected securely.

1.2Dental chairWhen the handpiece is loose and rotates, if the needle tip and needle body are not aligned, the needle tip may become a "flying needle". If the needle tip wobbles excessively, control becomes difficult. Both situations are very dangerous during oral treatment. If the handpiece is loose and the needle tip wobbles excessively, the needle clamp should be cleaned. If the handpiece cannot be replaced, the turbine rotating core should be replaced.

1.3Dental chairSometimes the hand drill does not produce mist, or there is a mist phenomenon. In both cases, the first step is to rule out abnormal water vapor supply. If there is mist, check if the air tube is securely connected. Check for aging damage; whether the spray nozzle is blocked. If there is no mist, the waterway also needs to be checked. First, check if the water adjustment valve is damaged.FunctionIs it normal? Check if the basin water pipe has fallen off, is excessively bent, or is broken; whether the handpiece outlet is blocked. In the above cases, according to maintenance practices, clean and replace damaged parts.

1.4 If there is water or air leakage at the connection points of the hand drill body, and the hand drill has not fallen, simply replace or supplement the lost and damaged seals according to the model. If it has fallen, it needs to be reshaped. However, this can be difficult. Do not easily discard valuable parts from a hand drill that is usually scrapped; they can save time in critical situations.

2. Auxiliary parts of peripheral equipment. This includes water, electricity, external connection routes, foot switches, air compressor control boxes, etc.

2.1 External acquisition of steam. Damage to the external steam acquisition furnace is generally accompanied by obvious water leakage and air leakage sounds. If carefully checked, a solution can be found immediately. The foot control switch.FunctionThe structure is relatively simple. If there is no response when stepped on, it is generally a problem with the micro switch or contacts. After replacement, as long as the connections are secure, it can be resolved without excessive entanglement.

2.2 Circuit faults are mostly due to frequent issues with electromagnetic gas or water valves. When the electromagnetic valve operates, it is accompanied by sound and vibration. If there is no response after starting, it needs to be replaced. Another electromagnetic valve may work, but due to aging, the valve does not operate normally and cannot adjust the moisture, requiring replacement with a new electromagnetic valve of the same model.
